This Ring Is Nearly the Perfect Minimalist Fitness Tracker →

I’m not into watches or wristbands, but for the last few weeks I’ve been wearing a fitness tracker on my finger. It knows how long I sleep and detects when I walk or run, and all I’ve gotta do is wear it like jewelry and forget about it. — Beth Skwarecki, vitals.lifehacker.com

What booze tastes best in a Wendy's Frosty? →

Wendy’s Frosty is so much more than just a french fry’s best dipping liquid; it’s one of fast food’s most recognizable flavors. But what if, my friends, what if we dared to dream? To push boundaries, to defy expectations, to think beyond what’s already in the red wax-cardboard cup? My fellow Americans, what I’m asking you to consider is this: What if we added booze to a Frosty? — Kate Bernot, thetakeout.com

Summer weather is here, so I’m glad someone has done this important research.

Huawei's MateBook X Pro arrives in the US →

Trade disputes be damned. — engadget.com

I just recently bought a new laptop so I’m not in the market for another one right now, but I’ve been keeping an eye on this and it’s a model I wouldn’t have been sad to end up with.

Eventually I sacrificed some of that sweet sweet screen to body ratio in favour of a convertible and went for a HP Spectre X360

The True Story of How Laurel Became Yanny →

In the beginning, the laurel-or-yanny clip said laurel and nothing but laurel. Here is the original version of the clip, recorded by an opera singer working for Vocabulary.com. Chances are, you’ll hear it as laurel too. Let’s compare it to the viral clip and we’ll see exactly what changed, and why half of us hear the viral clip as yanny. — Beth Skwarecki, vitals.lifehacker.com

I think by now it’s pretty well-known that the Yanny / Laurel audio clip originally said Laurel, so hopefully I’m not spoiling anyone’s fun with this analysis of where the ambiguity came from.

Google unveils six new AI-generated voices for Assistant — engadget.com

My google assistant is male and Flo’s is female, and I can’t figure out how I’d change it from one to the other. Maybe with the new voices I’ll get an option I can set?
